Place the tagine in cold water overnight. Please make sure that the pot is completely covered with water. No additives such as cleaning agents may be added to the water. The tagine must then air dry properly. Moisten the unglazed underside of the base with water and rub the inside of the base and lid well with olive oil. Now add a cup of water with a tablespoon of oil to the tagine and close it. Then put it in the cold oven. Please make sure that the oven is cold, as the tagine is very sensitive to large temperature differences. Then gradually heat the oven to max. 180°C and leave the tagine in there for 30 to 45 minutes. This process strengthens the tagine and promotes better flavor development of the dishes when cooking. The tagine is now ready to use!

Mosaic panels made of glazed stones do not require any care, panels with terracotta can be polished with commercially available beeswax (this can be cleaned beforehand with very fine sandpaper).

The frame can be treated with clear varnish or linseed oil varnish as required

Please do not expose henna lamps to direct sunlight or light as the color could fade. Please never clean wet, but treat with a commercially available hand cream.
