Brass is a wonderful material for oriental washbasins and sinks : it has excellent properties and a gentle shimmer . The alloy consists of at least 50 percent copper and up to 40 percent zinc . Different metals are used for the rest. Due to the zinc content, brass is a little harder than pure copper, but just as easy to work with.

In Morocco, people still prefer to use traditional brass basins for washing dishes . Just like a stainless steel sink, these are embedded in a worktop and the flat edge is flush at the top. Metal pools are generally enjoying growing popularity. It's a noble sight when in the bathroom there is an artfully hammered bowl in an oak slab,  Granite or slate rests. For washing hands or personal hygiene, modern wash bowls now complement the classic ceramic countertop basins.

All brass washbasins are hand-forged in Morocco and have either the typical net-like structure of the hammer blows or a smooth surface .  Many models are available in either a warm gold/bronze tone or a cool silver shine.
