Oriental tile borders: tile and corners

Whether in mosques or Koranic schools, whether on a fountain or a wall in the courtyard of a riad: In the Orient, every tile mosaic is finished with a border. Without this band of narrow ornamental tiles, the pattern would "flow apart" and our gaze would wander into the distance. The border, on the other hand, allows our eyes and thus our head to rest. Pure relaxation! Perhaps it is behind the tile border that the secret of the serenity of the people of the Orient lies.

Oriental tile borders are available as wall and floor tiles. Ceramic frieze borders run around the walls of the room, ceramic frieze and corner borders outline an ornamental field on the floor or wall. Border tiles are laid almost exclusively indoors, so frost-resistant porcelain stoneware is a rare material.

Oriental tile borders can also be combined with unpatterned ceramic or Mediterranean terracotta tiles. For a harmonious effect, their color should be repeated in the selected tile border. Please note that the borders in cement tile look do not have a white background, but light gray. To be absolutely sure, you can use our sample tile service. You can find the prices in the respective product description.
