Marokkanische Tajine – Kochen wie im Orient

Tajine or tagine (pronounced tadjien) is the name for the cookware traditionally used in Morocco. Due to their gentle cooking method, tajines are also extremely popular in this country: the natural aroma of the ingredients and the valuable vitamins remain contained and the food gets an incomparable spicy taste. Tajines from Casa-Moro are ideal for cooking fish, meat, poultry and vegetables. Traditionally, desserts are also prepared in the casserole and even bread is baked.

And it's so simple: the tagine is filled with the ingredients and placed in the oven, on the charcoal grill or the stovetop. The heat causes steam to rise, which condenses on the lid and drips back down. This preserves the liquid and the food cooks in its own juices. A little saffron, cumin and turmeric add a real oriental touch. The addition of fat is not necessary, but a little olive oil intensifies the flavor. Especially hurried and inexperienced cooks love cooking with a Moroccan tajine. Give it a try!

Casa-Moro tajines are handcrafted from clay in Morocco. All of them have their advantages: Unglazed tajines are characterized by their particularly natural cooking aroma. Glazed tajines are easier to clean and a real feast for the eyes. Sizes range from 20 to 40 cm in diameter. The mini tagines are ideal for one person or several small dishes, while the largest pots hold dishes for 5 to 6 people. Add an extra touch of the Orient to your table with hand-painted spice tajines.

Our tip: With our tajine teapot, you can enjoy a piece of Moroccan life culture. This includes the traditional preparation of a braised dish in the open air. It cooks in a tajine over charcoal, which glows in a heat-resistant teapot. Ideal for delicious hot food at a picnic or on the terrace.
